New genus of minute Berothidae (Neuroptera) from Early Eocene amber of British Columbia

چکیده
Microberotha macculloughi gen. nov. and sp. nov. from Early Eocene Okanagan Highlands amber of Hat Creek, British Columbia, Canada, is described. This new genus and species represents one of the smallest members of the family Berothidae and the first occurrence of the family in the New World Tertiary. The systematic position of the genus Microberotha within the family is rather unclear, but the structure of the male genitalia indicates a close association with the subfamily Cyrenoberothinae. Stratigraphy and palaeoenvironment of the Hat Creek locality are briefly discussed. Archibald SB, Makarkin VN. 2004. Nouveau genre minuscule de Berothidae (Neuroptera) dans l’ambre de l’éocène inférieur en Colombie Britannique. The Canadian Entomologist 136 : 61–76.

The second genus and species of the extinct neuropteroid family Corydasialidae, from early Eocene McAbee, British Columbia, Canada: do they belong to Megaloptera?
Ypresioneura obscura gen. et sp. nov. from the early Eocene (Ypresian) McAbee locality (Canada, British Columbia) is described. It is assigned to the extinct neuropteroid family Corydasialidae, as the second known genus and species. The Corydasialidae was previously known only from late Eocene (Priabonian) Baltic amber. It was originally assigned to the Megaloptera, but the character states tha...
متن کاملTwo new species of Sinosmylites Hong (Neuroptera, Berothidae) from the Middle Jurassic of China, with notes on Mesoberothidae
Two new species of the genus Sinosmylites Hong are described from the Middle Jurassic locality at Daohugou (Inner Mongolia, China): Sinosmylites fumosussp. n. and Sinosmylites rasnitsynisp. n. This is the oldest known occurrence of the family Berothidae. The berothid affinity of this genus is confirmed by examination of the hind wing venation characteristic of the family. The Late Triassic fami...

Two new fossil species of Nymphidae (Neuroptera) are described: Nymphes georgei sp. nov. from the Early Eocene locality at Republic, Washington, U.S.A., and Pronymphes hoffeinsorum sp. nov. from Late Eocene Baltic amber. The assignment of the new Republic species to Nymphes Leach maintains some doubt. This is the first fossil record of the genus (or one very closely related), today restricted t...

Elektrithone expectata gen. et sp. nov. (Neuroptera: Ithonidae) is described from Eocene Baltic amber and represents the first record of this family from Baltic amber. The forewing venation of the new genus is characterized by a small number of crossveins as found in some 'polystoechotid'-like genera, and by the absence of the distal nygma and the strong reduction of the anal area which are cha...
